The Gospel According to Tato

Posted: Wednesday, April 23, 2008

While looking for my crystal skull,

I turned over a leaf

discovering a family of clown-faced insects

who were arguing over creation.

"Which came first, the spider or cookiepuss?"

queried mama.

Daddy answered,

"According to Tato,

in the beginning there was only greasepaint. And it was good!

Then God descended from the stars

and created the lowly insects with no free will.

The insects begat the jackass,

which our savior rode into a circus tent on a bed of palms.

He captivated the masses by invoking Pennywise

and John Wayne Gacy.

They took their true form

and raped mankind for salvation

by imbuing our souls with torture and sin!

You see, the insect has no morality

and the clown has no fear.

By living a fearlessly amoral lifestyle

we can find sustenance

in the simplest and most perverse!"

"Oh I see," declared mama.

And it was good!

Kraftwerk Milwaukee 4/20

Posted: Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Since I couldn't see them at Coachella this year, we trekked to Milwaukee to see one of my early favorites, Kraftwerk. I had all of their releases mostly on cassette and later on vinyl.

Parking is free on the street around the corner!

David and Jane in front of The Rave.

It was such a big deal to me! The opening songs had tears streaming down my face. It's been a long-time goal of mine to see these electronica pioneers. Numbers
